Peshawar: The Khyber Pakhtunkhwa Revenue Authority (KPRA) has exceeded its revenue collection target for the financial year 2021-22. KPRA has collected $30.02 billion against the provincial government’s target of $27 billion for the 2021-22 financial year, a press release issued by the authority said here on Sunday. The total was $3 billion more than that year’s target.

Despite the impact of Covid-19 on the service sector and overall economic activity in the province, the institution has shown a growth of 45% in FY 2021-22 compared to FY 2020-21. It should be noted that KPRA has doubled its revenue collection in the last three years. According to details shared by KPRA, the agency was able to collect $27.23 billion from service sales tax and $2.79 billion from infrastructure development charges (IDC).

He said the growth in revenue collection has increased due to the effective use of tax rate reduction policies based on data-driven analysis of each revenue stream sector. The authorities have worked to widen the tax net and get taxpayers’ registered.
