The purpose of establishing the organization is to revitalize health services in rural Sindh. The immediate objective is to ensure that the health facilities entrusted to PPHI are fully functional, providing health services to the people within reach. A dedicated and capable management team has been deployed with full force to achieve this goal. In a short period of time, regular attendance of doctors and staff and continuous supply of medical equipment is ensured at the health center.

The journey of PPHI started from Kashmore district in 2007 and gradually spread to 22 districts of Sindh. This responsibility was first given in 2007 through the Sindh Rural Support Organization (SRSO) under the Union Government of Sindh (GoS). In 2013, it became an independent company under Section 42 of the Companies Act, 1984 (Repealed in 2017), which signed a new agreement with the body (GoS).

PPHI represents a new way of working. Serving the poor is done with passion, commitment and determination. It is often seen that such codes of conduct are written by private individuals only. This norm rarely governs the public service in Pakistan. The close supervision and tireless facilitation by managers of every essential element of business has rarely been equalled.

Since its establishment in 2007, PPHI Sindh has made tremendous progress as a non-profit organization in saving the lives of women, newborns, children and families across Sindh. While PPHI’s mission remains fundamentally unchanged, interventions and implementation continue to evolve based on the changing needs of the communities we serve and our growing expertise. As PPHI Sindh’s technical expertise continues to expand, our organizational programs and approaches have become more multidisciplinary and field-based, more practical, flexible and sustainable.
